Almost Done…

July 13th, 2008

Hi all.

I am almost back from the land of no time and no peace lol. Joking aside, holidays are almost over, two days left and number one son is happily watching his POWER RANGERS. He is obsessed with them. So much so I went out and bought a whole 15 seasons lol. Thank god now I have peace :) Typical boy, loves the fight scenes and the colourful superhero costumes!!!

It’s been a quiet hols. It’s rained on and off a bit. So there has been lots of craft. Once it was dry, we’ve had nature walks and feeding of ducks and turtles and the best bit for my son……

KUNGFU PANDA

We went the movies and you have never seen a little boy sooo excited. He literally could not keep still. Drove me mental :) But he loved the movie and you know what? So did I. It’s a movie that’s on my to be bought list down the track!

Okay that’s all. More goss later when I have another spare two minutes.

Check in…

June 30th, 2008

Just a check in with you all.

Its school holidays here, so time to myself is few and far between lol. Any writing has to be done at night or in quick snatches on my laptop. So I’m feeling the frustrated author thing at the moment. But we are three days in and it is NOT the horrific experience I was expecting from other holidays. It’s actually been peaceful and kind of fun. So YAY for me :)

We are heading out to see Kung Fu Panda this week and my five year old is waiting with bated breath. In other words he is being painfully nice so he gets to go lol. Ain’t blackmail GREAT!!!

Anyway will check back in a  couple of days.

Ciao all

Woe is me…

June 22nd, 2008

I was just wondering today as I ponder the frozen screen of my PDA Phone. How much of our life is lived through technology.

Yes, this seems like a weird blog for me. But the level of anxiety I felt as my phone froze for three hours and I couldn’t get hold of a techie to help me was HUGE. I freaked, I swore, I cried *blush* but literally my whole life is on it. Emails, phone numbers, adresses, story ideas, photos… everything.

I realsied that, wow, if it were to break and the sim unrecoverable I would lose ALOT of info. So  maybe the answer here is to back up…

What did that famous writer once say…

To backup or not to back up that is the question. ;)

PS, I finally got it to work now I am madly syncing with my computer so I don’t lose any of the data.

Thank god!!!

Whats been happening…

June 16th, 2008

Hey all.

Things have been relatively normal here in the

land of

Kelly Ethan
. Frantically editing my book and critting for Alexis Fleming. And now I’ve started planning another YA novel.

I’ve stopped hacking up fur balls and thankfully no longer sound like a man J

FANTASTIC BOOK ALERT

Christina Dodd’s…Scent of Darkness. Could NOT put it down. So after you’ve all finished buying my books lol. Go forth and buy hers…

Great read!!

BEST MOVIE

Okay I will admit to playing hookie yesterday, Instead of writing and editing like a demon I went to the movies…YAY. I watched the best movie I think I’ve seen this year. PRINCE CASPIAN. The second in the Narnia movies. LOOOOVED it. Want to buy it on DVD when it’s out. Not to mention the guys in it. Phoarrr. They are a tad young for me but still lovely to look at!!!

Do yourself a favour and indulge the senses, see this movie!!!

I’M IN LOOOOVE!

Not quite gone yet…

June 10th, 2008

Well, the flu had it’s dastardly way with me and I am still hacking up furballs. But overall I don’t quite feel like death warmed up anymore :)

Having mum stay was AMAZING. I love having her up with us. We chatted about books, I was diagnosed with GOUT (even though I AM NOT OLD) it poured and flooded everywhere. But it was a blast. I cried when she left.  Sighhhh… only 45 days to I see her again, not that I’m counting lol.

I must admit even though we were busy when she was here, it was great to have another person face to face to bounce writing stuff off with. Normally everything is done over the ‘puter’ or on the phone. Imagine our phone bills. :) But actually being able to sit down and brainstorm where a book is going etc is a huge blast to the ego.

Oh well only 45 days to go :)

Under the weather…

June 4th, 2008

HI all.

No blog today. I am sickkkkkkk. Yep mum comes up to visit and recover from her pneumonia. And what happens?

I GET THE FLU ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

So I am miserable, feverish and I’m hacking up a lung as we speak. The pictures are charming aren’t they ;)

Anyway. I am holing up in bed with chocolate, water and dvd’s, so wish me well everyone.

 Cheers

ackkkkkkkkkkkkkk

May 26th, 2008

The title says it all.

ACKKKKKKK (imagine me running around screaming, pulling my hair out ;)

It’s been a comedy of errors over the last few days. We’ve had a mouse plague, a swearing incident, a blow up bed massacre and my back is gone….so YAY…sarcasm rocks.

Mum is actually flying up tomorrow. Thank god, I don’t think my phone bill could stand the separation any longer lol.  But because we don’t have a spare bed I have just spent an hour trying to blow two double beds up with a pump. So my back has given out, old woman that I am.

Of course I am now laying traps for the mice that are currently holing up somewhere in my home. But after a week still no joy. I wonder if I have the Einstein of mice living with me :)

As for the swearing, we were at a picnic on the weekend and my son surpised some birds eating our food from the table. Of course he yelled at them and called silly F%%&heads. ACKKKK I do NOT use those words in our house. But apparently the kids at school do…sighhhhh. I knew it was a mistake to teach kids to talk lol.

Anyway that’s my day. What about yours?

Whaaaaaaa

May 19th, 2008

Okay a really, really short blog today. I woke this am to find over 110 pages and 1700 spam posts.

ACKKKKKKKK. Okay, frustrated much ;( I am working my way through them as we apeak. So far I am a quarter of  the way through and its only been an hour lol. Ahh the wonderful life of an author.

Bigger post next time. Back to the grind stone!

Happy Mother’s Day all!!!!

May 11th, 2008

http://jollyangels.blogspot.com/2007/05/happy-mothers-day.html HAPPY MOTHER”S DAY!!!!!!

YAY Australian’s actually celebrated this yesterday. AND IT WAS GREAT!

I had a friend come over who’s hubby is away OS and we had homemade pizza, choccie cake and TIM TAMS!! If you ever get a chance to visit OZ and you love your choccie bikkies check out TIM TAMS. Heaven on earth :) The kids ran wild and it was great.

Number one son invited me to a school brekky just for prep mums. He massaged my hand, head and back. Bought me pancakes and sang me a song. Awwwwwwww my son’s sooo cute!

And he had a mothers day stall at school so he bought me these cute fridege magnets in my fav color. He does listen ;) Not to mention a homemade canvas fridge magnet with his pikkie on it and numerous drawings. My hat goes off to the fantastic teachers at his school who go the extra mile to make things amazing for the students.

So that was my wonderful day.
